SWR, Inc. began in 1968 as a service company supervising RF Installations
and performing field warranty work for broadcast stations in the U.S.
At that time, transmission lines could not handle the high power requirements
of the growing UHF market. In 1972, SWR developed, tested and patented
its first Thermo-coupled rigid coaxial line that made all others obsolete.
It was truly a System With Reliability. The new line not only met UHF
installation requirements, but also met the needs of the growing FM
radio transmission market. The Thermo-couple rigid coaxial line, otherwise
known as K-line, began a series of firsts for SWR. In 1972, we were
first to offer a two-year warranty on transmission line, and in 1990,
to provide five year limited parts and warranty on antennas and transmission
systems. In 1985, SWR began marketing its first high power Clarion Waveguide
Antenna and Posi-Lock Waveguide for UHF applications. Then in 1990,
we introduced a complete line of FM antennas and LPTV antennas for low
and medium-power television transmitters. Today, we offer a complete
line of UHF, VHF, FM antennas and passive transmission systems. All
of our products are backed by the same high reliability standards that
is our company's namesake. SWR will continue to put reliability first
as we provide the broadcast industry with innovative solutions.
